For a quick chart, I figured I would tackle Makeover Monday Week 3 of 2018, a week late but better late than never! For this week, we looked at the income distributions per state. We have a couple of data point options: there were the percentage of households in each income distribution, per state, per year. For many of the Makeover Monday participants, charts were made looking at the distributions in each state.
Rather than focus on each state, I took the overall average percentage of households, and I plotted sparklines from 2010 to 2015 to see how the averages changed over time.
It looks like the percentage of households in lower incomes are decreasing, and the percentage of households in higher incomes is increasing! Does this mean the United States is getting richer as more incomes are in higher ranges?
